Hey guys, here are some reviews that are coming in! =)

The final copies of the Anaconda DVD, The Eye Cut and the Anaconda Original Soundtrack have been re-released for a very short period only, so do click on the button below if you’d like to grab a copy!

Joel Tan from Singapore:

Hey guys,

I got home from work to find a package lying in front of my door, and right away, I knew what would be happening the rest of the night. ‘Awesome’ does not do justice to the content of the Anaconda DVD and Eye Cut download.

Thank you all so much for putting in such a stonking good effort in releasing what I feel is the most comprehensive flourish tutorial I have EVER come across.

The multiple angles, texts, slow-mos, colour and music all came together with a feast for eyes, ears, hands and mind.

The initial reaction with regards to such a short tutorial was at first, scary. I thought I missed out something. I thought the DVD was faulty. I thought there was some kind of a mistake.

Then I gave it a go.

Nope. I did not have a massive dribble. But I had something two to three times bigger than my regular one.

And suddenly, it all made sense. The quality of the teaching, the amount of thought put into it. The culmination of years of practice and refining condensed into four short minutes.

This is THE benchmark.

Thank you Bone for releasing this. Thanks you Virts for making this happen. Thank you Roland for the amazing music. And I haven’t even started on the bonus material yet.

Last but not least, thank you Huron. For bringing me into this wonderful and mysterious art of card flourishing.

Cheers,
Joel Tan

Fabian Dahms from Germany:

That’s the f***ing best and most awesome card Dvd I’ve ever seen ( and truly i’ve seen many).

The most impressive thing is that the moves are all the ones you can’t stop practising because it’s such a fun to execute them ( that is so rare!).

The moves are all well explained and i did not have any problem to understand them. And WOW the option to choose between right and left hand makes it so much easier to understand, i love it!

Because of the extraordinary great teaching, i learned the moves faster than ever.

I’m really into Butterfly, i cannot say why but I really love this little flourish since i saw it on the gambit video!

Hmmmm… let me think of a critique…hmmm … the only thing I can mention is that I missed a short explanation of which cards are the best for the anaconda and if its better o powder them or not, but even that i found out myself.

So I think you can be more than proud of yourself, because what you have created is breathtaking awesomeness!

So here I want to thank you Huron for taking care of me and the problem with the digital download, I think you know what i mean =) Thanks, thanks, thanks!

I think that’s enough for one mail, your heads possibly feel pretty dizzy right now :P

I wish you the best!
Fabian Dahms

Sanat Misra from the United Kingdom:

I must thank you for your generosity, your effort in making these extremely hard moves like the anaconda, eye cut, hindu tornado accessible to people like me, as I wrote before, I am very new to card flourishing, only started in June when I saw the spring tutorial by you guys.

The teaching is so amazing, that even I can understand and follow everything. You guys have really set the bar for teaching and inspiring people.

Not only that, I must also thank you for the effort you have done for your customers, you have kept us updated since the beginning and written to us regularly.

This hard work is reflected on the downloads, the details you go through when teaching is amazing man.

Keep it up,

Sanat

Donald Whittemore from the USA:

Everything is absolutely awesome! You guys did an awesome job, thanks for putting so much effort into this project. I hope it paid off for you guys, it definitely paid off for me.

I now have several epic moves to add to my repertoire. This material was so well put together and so well thought out, the teaching so detailed. It walks you through everything you need to know to get the flourishes down. I’m glad you took out a lot of guess work unlike other flourishing dvd’s published.

You’ve proven the point that it doesn’t just take practice alone, like so many people suggest. It takes knowledge and understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish, back up by practice, work ethic and a determination not to give up. You’ve got to have 3-D vision. A Dream, backed up by Determination, backed up by Discipline.

This has been an unforgettable event. I can’t wait for you guys to do more in the future. Thanks for all the free tutorials you’ve put out in the past as well. Everything you guys do is top notch, and I really look forward to more epic material in the future.

It feels great to connect with people on the other side of the world, coming together to advance the art. It feels great to be in an art with people like you. All in all, this event was an epic win, in spite of a few snags. I really appreciate the high production quality and the excitement and passion you put into everything.

You guys have a winning personality, you think positively, and I like that. You inspire me to push myself beyond what I ever thought capable, and push me to achieve what I never thought possible.

A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains it’s original dimensions.

Thanks again!

Your Friend,

Donald Whittemore

Ian Grosskurth from the USA:

Huron, Bone, and or everyone else,

You asked what I thought of the Anaconda DVD.

Initially, i was very disappointed that the DVD’s title flourish was reduced to a 4 minute tutorial.

That is . . . until i was able to do the anaconda in one night!

Since I ordered the dvd, i have been sitting down watching bone’s old “60 Cm Dribble” tutorial and trying to reverse engineer how to do the anaconda.

I literally have been practicing this for the week or two or whatever trying to do it, and most of the tutorial was stating things I was able to figure out on my own from the old one, but the difference was made in the things the new tutorial taught that i couldn’t figure out.

The main differences that stuck out were:

1) More precise finger placement along with a realization of the -edited out- importance and control.

2) The method to avoid card hooking.

3) The way your hands move to stretch out the dribble to make it bigger.

4) And finally THE MOST IMPORTANT part for me, the -edited out-. This definitely was the key for me!

My Anaconda is in between a garden snake and a massive one, but it won’t be long at all until I’m able to bust the massive anaconda.

Virts, you guys are so dope! Stay stylistically intelligent! Bone, i can’t thank you enough for releasing this move . . . respect!

Peace,
Ian GrossKurth

P.S. You also asked about how the soundtrack was and I love it.
I can’t get track 8, Anaconda, out of my head, and that’s a good thing.

Mark Gan from Singapore:

I think the soundtrack is worth a ton more than all the card flourishes. The card sleights were incomparable, but the music is diamond.

Everybody I shared the music with all said that those were the best 5 to 6 pieces of soundtrack music they ever heard, better than any genre of music ever created, be it pop, jazz, country, with and without lyrics.

Roland did a fantastic job. What makes the music unique is the motivational element in it. There’s something about the way it was composed like the beats, staccatos, crescendos, descends, and allegrettos (all music lingo) that makes it very elegant.

I think someone with depression and mental iillness will instantly be cured. ;)

The music here created by Roland is better than any other music on card flourishing DVDs I bought.

Not to say the flourishes in Anaconda were anything less, it was terrific too, a different touch of card manipulation from that in America and Europe.

There was more emphasis of the art of motion in Anaconda and also very precise mechanics of card control.

All said and done, I would have more than accepted the full soundtrack for the price of the whole DVD, and even feel that I got it at a huge 10 times bargain!

-Mark Gan

I hope you enjoyed the read!

Whoa That was a huge comment man but if you try just a bit harder you might get it man :)

  3. Joseph Vir Daniel M. Ferrer says:

Too bad my dvd is not here yet… haha im really excited to get it… how many days will i still wait?

  4. Stephan says:

man! i can’t wait for my DVD!!!! im so excited!
i wish i had it right now to contribute for the reviews!

  5. ian says:

in response to the last review, i too was a little dissapointed in the length of the tutorial, i had been trying to learn the dribble for a while, i had the old tutorial, tried to learn it, but couldn’t do the move. i bought the dvd and now i can do the move.

so the question has to be is the length completely relevant? i spent, what i spent, to be able to do this move, and now i can.

and if you can learn the anaconda from the old tutorial, then good for anyone who can, but i couldn’t.

and personally, for me, for a move that didnt ever have to be released, i’m glad it was.

    peace,

  6. Hank says:

i was just wondering what the promised ‘bonus’ stuffs are?

is it going to be things that are not covered in the DVD? or like extra tips? or something completely different?

  7. Peter says:

Does the dvd tell you how to increase it’s height?

    • The Virts says:

Hi Peter, yes the DVD does teach you how to increase its height, both through the way the cards are released and the way your hands are moved apart.

  8. lala says:

To be honest, I don’t think the DVD is worth its price. The actual Anaconda tutorial is a mere 4 minutes, and I don’t think it’s any better than the pictures-with-text Anaconda tutorials already floating around the web. C’mon, Virts, how is the Anaconda any better than before? The Anaconda isn’t any more impressive than it was a few years back, the only difference between getting a “cute tree snake” and an Anaconda is practice. For people here who’re buying this DVD, I assure you, you’re paying good money to the Virts just to learn the edge grip, which can already be learnt for free in many other flourishing websites. Just Google it, practice hard, and you’ll be able to master the Anaconda in a matter of days. Without forking out a single cent.

Also, the bonus tutorials are pretty disappointing… considering that I’ve seen way more impressive flourishes from the Virts. At this point I’m asking myself… what exactly did the Virts and Bone spend $72 000 on? Advertising and hype?

Virts, you may delete/censor this comment if you wish, and I urge you to go ahead. You wouldn’t want your sales to go down because of one guy who doesn’t like your DVD, right? Nevertheless, in the end, the flourishing community will know. Hype + recycling old material does not equal good DVD.

  9. Joseph Vir Daniel M. Ferrer says:

    Here’s a little story…

First, Let me introduce myself, My name is Joseph Vir Daniel M. Ferrer, You Can Call Me anything from those three names, but most people call me Jade… I’m from the Philippines, and just turned 14 last September 2 and getting the anaconda and the eyecut for my birthday

I started card flourishes and Card Magic 3 months ago, March, the summer here in the Philippines… I first learn’t card magic though, I was introduced into card flourishes by Gambit, in X-Men Origins, you know, the card spring… I was very very struck when i saw the flourishes… So I searched the internet out, I was so determined to do card flourishes that I searched for a whole day, LEAKS, DVDRips and other pirated stuffs in the internet… Yeah I was so crazy… Then one day I bumped at Youtube and saw the Gambit Trailer…. I Was so starstruck by the Long Long Spring “Anaconda Dribble” which gambit did… Then again i searched for the correct name of that Long Long Dribble… I Finally Stumbled across Bone Ho’s Site and found it was named Anaconda… After I found out the name of that flourish… I searched and searched… I found Bone’s post at handzlordz forums and tried to learn it… took me months really upto now… Now i can do the dribble finally, but you know what it looked like? Bone’s 60cm Dribble! :)) a cute tree snake! after months and months of looking for a video tutorial… I was reading and helping people out at the forums of ellusionist… there was an announcement of the WLD2009.com I said to myself… finally! after waiting a long time! I’m going to learn the secret of Anaconda! which was written in the Death To The Noobs Title… I Read the e-book…. I scanned all the pages fast without reading, and found no pictures, tutorial of the anaconda, I was like so disappointed… haha… but that didn’t stop me… I read the E-book of course… I was so inspired! thanks to the encouraging words of Huron Low! haha… After I read it… I talked to my parents telling them to buy the dvd for me for my birthday, I told them it was going to be sold for 1 Week, guess what my mother said… “It’s only a part of their business strategy, they will sell it afterwards.” I begged my mom and it did not convince her… so I went to my dad… which is very strict… he has the credit card.. haha… I told him ill do something for him if he bought me the dvd… guess what? he agreed! and thats how i asked for it… When waiting… I looked for the contacts of The Virts and Bone Ho… First i looked for bone’s contact details… and found it in his fansite…. chatted with him, shared with him many things, and talked about personal things which i told my self like we knew each other for a long time… haha…I asked him if huron has an E-mail address so i can chat with him and say hi, he told me huron dosen’t have one… but he does have a facebook account… What a coincidence! while we were talking Huron Low was beside him! haha… so i said hi to Huron Low and so on, and so forth… Until now… ;)

Thanks for spending the time reading this “Story” of mine….
    and mostly…
Thank you so much Huron Low, Bone Ho… for the encouraging words and support that you have given me! :D

    Until then!

    • The Virts says:

      hey “Jade”.
I remember signing on your DVD! =D
We were choosing between Joseph and Daniel, and decided to go with Joseph.
      Score!!
Anyway, it’s been great chatting with you on facebook… and you’re welcome for the encouragement and support. The community needs a little more of that instead of the bashing we see everywhere.
      Thanks once again!

Thank you more! ;) can’t wait to chat with you again Huron! :D Hope we see each other one day! :D

  10. Hi, Guys,
I have meening to put a post up ever since my anaconda came through my door, but since then the DVD has taken over my life in some aspects. Ok I have read a bad review above but hey there’s no need to worry it’s only one persons view and we do respect feedom of speech…right?

Ok I’m a proffesional magician and I love flourishes and I always put them in my routines and they always are well and trully ppreiciated. This DVD is an exception, Normally you get a dvd full of people talking over the flourish and you tend to miss things. With this you get precise, wel executed angles, slow walk thru and all the info in the world. This might seem like bull to some of you but I have paid nearly three times the amount before hand and only had one flourish to be thankfull of as the dvd did not do as it said on the tin. As for the extras, awsome, awsome, awsome. Beautifull. I would have paid more and still wouldn’t have been dissapointed. I think the guys have done a wonderfull job and they should just keep pushing forward. Just as a comment on the post above slating bone and the virts: I don’t know where you’ve been looking on the net but I haven’t found it for free. But what would I know, i’ve only been doing this for erm hmm 24 years………… Ah well. Oh by the way guys I lovedthe speed I received the DvD, how the hell did you get it to the uk within a week? I normally have to wait three for any overseas delivery.. In my eyes you’ve been the best and you have been the best for customer service too. Keep up the good work. Damen William Lewis

  11. Bplf95 says:

    hi

i live in the uk and i ordered the dvd on the second day after the original launch i still haven’t received it. i don’t know whether im being impatient. has anyone else received in the u.k.

    Ben

PS i didnt pay extra to have it shipped first. Is this why?

  12. Dakota says:

I ordered the Anaconda DVD on the third day of release. I came home from school two days ago and I saw it in my mail box. My jaw dropped. I was so excited that I had finally got it. At first, I was a bit dissapointed that the Anaconda explanation was only about four minutes long, but then I took what I learned and tried it. I was amazed at how much longer my dribble became. I was also surprised that the other flourishes taught in the DVD were quite a bit harder than the Anaconda, but nonetheless, it is still the best flousish DVD I have ever seen. It has to be one of my smartest decisions. Thank you Bone and The Virts and everyone else who has helped make this DVD. Your efforts will not be taken for granted.

    • The Virts says:

      Hey Dakota!
I was actually worried at first if people would be shocked at the length of the tutorial.
Eventually, I figured that they’d see the effectiveness of the tutorial when they actually tried it out, and I’m glad that’s paid off. =)

I’m really happy that your dribble has become much longer, and that you feel this is the best flourish DVD you’ve ever seen. Thank you!

You’re very welcome for this DVD, and thank you so much for supporting this production.

      Huron Low, The Virts

  13. Miguel says:

I got it!! And I must say it’s GREAT!! A big DVD wich I can’t explain well all I have felt when I saw It because I’m spanish but it’s a five stars for me. Thank you again for share it .

  14. Tarvi says:

When I first saw the tutorials on the DVD I was pretty shocked at the length of it, but now that I’m doing several of the bonus moves smoothly after a few days, and after my Anaconda has reached two feet (previously a few inches!) I can’t, in all fairness, complain!

Many thanks for your hard work.

    -David

  15. Tiny says:

So, I finally decided to take the time to write a review.

I stalked the release date and nagged my friend to buy it for me on time while we were both at work. Like most of the people here, I was pretty surprised to see that the tutorial only lasted 4.5 minutes. I mean, c’mon, how could you teach something like the Anaconda in 4.5 minutes? I just wasn’t seeing it. But it’s like learning anything else: you’re given the basics, you practice, and you get better. You really can’t expect to create a giant dribble from the get-go.

So, ultimately, I was satisfied. I’m pretty sure my feeble dribble has improved through both the tutorial and my currently numb fingers. The bonus features are pretty spiffy too, although I haven’t gotten to learning those quite yet.

    Thanks guys! ;D

    -Tiny

  16. Joseph Vir Daniel M. Ferrer says:

still dont have the DVD *SIgH*

  17. Burst says:

I would say , the DvD + the download diffinitly DONT worth its price.

    DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

  18. Lorem says:

    Quality over quantity.

  19. Alex Oeming says:

I just got the dvd … from the guy down the street! Huh? That’s right, my doorbell rang and there was a complete stranger at 8:30p EST handing me a package from Singapore! How on Earth did he get it? Well, the address was to me at 504, but the five was written in a way that the mail delivery thought it was a three, so it went to a guy down the block. If he hadn’t been a nice guy and decided to see who this Alex Oeming guy really was, who knows how long i’d have been waiting after that! Whew! Anyway, from what i can tell, the tutorial is already helping me understand the Anaconda better, despite its quick narration. The precise finger placements are slightly different from what i had been using up until tonight, so we’ll see what comes from this. I’m hopeful. I love Mannequin and Razor and can’t wait to practice them, but i’ve got grad work to do, so they’ll have to wait. Thanks, Bone, for the creativity and the dvd. Cheers, Virts!

  30. Flavio_Amurrio506@hotmail.com says:

Just got the DVD today. I like the material and the video editing/ teaching style is very professional which makes it easy to learn. There is great detail in the explanation and the close ups to the grip really show the right way of holding the cards. The soundtrack is also very impressible. It suits the theme and teaching style of the DVD. The case looks nice. My only complaint is that the plastic part of the case is slightly crack (maybe because of shipping) but the DVD was undamaged and for some reason my DVD case was not sign.o_0 I was among the first people to order the dvd. But still great stuff.

Thanks Bone Ho and The Virts for such a great DVD.

  31. Matthias says:

lol i have no more money to buy new cards. damn. i have to use the old ones again -.-
