The final copies of the Anaconda DVD, The Eye Cut and the Anaconda Original Soundtrack have been re-released for a very short period only, so do click on the button below if you’d like to grab a copy!

Joel Tan from Singapore:

Hey guys,

I got home from work to find a package lying in front of my door, and right away, I knew what would be happening the rest of the night. ‘Awesome’ does not do justice to the content of the Anaconda DVD and Eye Cut download.

Thank you all so much for putting in such a stonking good effort in releasing what I feel is the most comprehensive flourish tutorial I have EVER come across.

The multiple angles, texts, slow-mos, colour and music all came together with a feast for eyes, ears, hands and mind.

The initial reaction with regards to such a short tutorial was at first, scary. I thought I missed out something. I thought the DVD was faulty. I thought there was some kind of a mistake.

Then I gave it a go.

Nope. I did not have a massive dribble. But I had something two to three times bigger than my regular one.

And suddenly, it all made sense. The quality of the teaching, the amount of thought put into it. The culmination of years of practice and refining condensed into four short minutes.

This is THE benchmark.

Thank you Bone for releasing this. Thanks you Virts for making this happen. Thank you Roland for the amazing music. And I haven’t even started on the bonus material yet.

Last but not least, thank you Huron. For bringing me into this wonderful and mysterious art of card flourishing.

Cheers,
Joel Tan

Fabian Dahms from Germany:

That’s the f***ing best and most awesome card Dvd I’ve ever seen ( and truly i’ve seen many).

The most impressive thing is that the moves are all the ones you can’t stop practising because it’s such a fun to execute them ( that is so rare!).

The moves are all well explained and i did not have any problem to understand them. And WOW the option to choose between right and left hand makes it so much easier to understand, i love it!

Because of the extraordinary great teaching, i learned the moves faster than ever.

I’m really into Butterfly, i cannot say why but I really love this little flourish since i saw it on the gambit video!

Hmmmm… let me think of a critique…hmmm … the only thing I can mention is that I missed a short explanation of which cards are the best for the anaconda and if its better o powder them or not, but even that i found out myself.

So I think you can be more than proud of yourself, because what you have created is breathtaking awesomeness!

So here I want to thank you Huron for taking care of me and the problem with the digital download, I think you know what i mean =) Thanks, thanks, thanks!

I think that’s enough for one mail, your heads possibly feel pretty dizzy right now :P

I wish you the best!
Fabian Dahms

Sanat Misra from the United Kingdom:

I must thank you for your generosity, your effort in making these extremely hard moves like the anaconda, eye cut, hindu tornado accessible to people like me, as I wrote before, I am very new to card flourishing, only started in June when I saw the spring tutorial by you guys.

The teaching is so amazing, that even I can understand and follow everything. You guys have really set the bar for teaching and inspiring people.

Not only that, I must also thank you for the effort you have done for your customers, you have kept us updated since the beginning and written to us regularly.

This hard work is reflected on the downloads, the details you go through when teaching is amazing man.

Keep it up,

Sanat

Donald Whittemore from the USA:

Everything is absolutely awesome! You guys did an awesome job, thanks for putting so much effort into this project. I hope it paid off for you guys, it definitely paid off for me.

I now have several epic moves to add to my repertoire. This material was so well put together and so well thought out, the teaching so detailed. It walks you through everything you need to know to get the flourishes down. I’m glad you took out a lot of guess work unlike other flourishing dvd’s published.

You’ve proven the point that it doesn’t just take practice alone, like so many people suggest. It takes knowledge and understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish, back up by practice, work ethic and a determination not to give up. You’ve got to have 3-D vision. A Dream, backed up by Determination, backed up by Discipline.

This has been an unforgettable event. I can’t wait for you guys to do more in the future. Thanks for all the free tutorials you’ve put out in the past as well. Everything you guys do is top notch, and I really look forward to more epic material in the future.

It feels great to connect with people on the other side of the world, coming together to advance the art. It feels great to be in an art with people like you. All in all, this event was an epic win, in spite of a few snags. I really appreciate the high production quality and the excitement and passion you put into everything.

You guys have a winning personality, you think positively, and I like that. You inspire me to push myself beyond what I ever thought capable, and push me to achieve what I never thought possible.

A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains it’s original dimensions.

Thanks again!

Your Friend,

Donald Whittemore

Ian Grosskurth from the USA:

Huron, Bone, and or everyone else,

You asked what I thought of the Anaconda DVD.

Initially, i was very disappointed that the DVD’s title flourish was reduced to a 4 minute tutorial.

That is . . . until i was able to do the anaconda in one night!

Since I ordered the dvd, i have been sitting down watching bone’s old “60 Cm Dribble” tutorial and trying to reverse engineer how to do the anaconda.

I literally have been practicing this for the week or two or whatever trying to do it, and most of the tutorial was stating things I was able to figure out on my own from the old one, but the difference was made in the things the new tutorial taught that i couldn’t figure out.

The main differences that stuck out were:

1) More precise finger placement along with a realization of the -edited out- importance and control.

2) The method to avoid card hooking.

3) The way your hands move to stretch out the dribble to make it bigger.

4) And finally THE MOST IMPORTANT part for me, the -edited out-. This definitely was the key for me!

My Anaconda is in between a garden snake and a massive one, but it won’t be long at all until I’m able to bust the massive anaconda.

Virts, you guys are so dope! Stay stylistically intelligent! Bone, i can’t thank you enough for releasing this move . . . respect!

Peace,
Ian GrossKurth

P.S. You also asked about how the soundtrack was and I love it.
I can’t get track 8, Anaconda, out of my head, and that’s a good thing.

Mark Gan from Singapore:

I think the soundtrack is worth a ton more than all the card flourishes. The card sleights were incomparable, but the music is diamond.

Everybody I shared the music with all said that those were the best 5 to 6 pieces of soundtrack music they ever heard, better than any genre of music ever created, be it pop, jazz, country, with and without lyrics.

Roland did a fantastic job. What makes the music unique is the motivational element in it. There’s something about the way it was composed like the beats, staccatos, crescendos, descends, and allegrettos (all music lingo) that makes it very elegant.

I think someone with depression and mental iillness will instantly be cured. ;)

The music here created by Roland is better than any other music on card flourishing DVDs I bought.

Not to say the flourishes in Anaconda were anything less, it was terrific too, a different touch of card manipulation from that in America and Europe.

There was more emphasis of the art of motion in Anaconda and also very precise mechanics of card control.

All said and done, I would have more than accepted the full soundtrack for the price of the whole DVD, and even feel that I got it at a huge 10 times bargain!

-Mark Gan

I hope you enjoyed the read!

Once again, you can order a copy of the Anaconda DVD here:

Hey!

Welcome to WLD ‘09.

All the content at the members area is probably a little overwhelming, so we put together this ‘cheat sheet’ for you. =)

Let’s begin.

What in the world is WLD ‘09?

It stands for World’s Longest Dribble 2009, which features this limited edition DVD:

This DVD teaches you how to do this: Anaconda- “The World’s Longest Dribble”

The Anaconda is essentially what Gambit did in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he lifted his hands and his cards just flew up into the air.

The difference?

The Anaconda is done with a completely normal deck of cards, and this DVD reveals every single technique and subtlety that makes this possible.

This DVD also teaches material including 1 handed cuts, 2 handed cuts, card shots, displays, productions, and even aerials.

In fact, check out “What’s in the Box” here if you’d like to know exactly what you’ll be getting in the limited edition DVD.

Here’s what some of the pros are saying about the project:

And check out this new performance video of The Eye Cut that we just posted up, another move featured alongside the Anaconda DVD.

You probably already know that the limited edition DVD sold out in a matter of 5 days.

That means there are none left.

But… there is good news. =)

A week ago we printed up a few Anaconda DVDs to give to our friends and partners, and after giving them all out, we realized we had some copies left.

We’ve been getting emails from a lot of people asking if they can still get their hands on the Anaconda DVD as they came in too late for the first run, and the good news is that we’ve decided to put the some of the remaining copies back on the market.

If you’re reading this, it means that there’s still space on the Anaconda DVD Waiting List below.

But before you join the Waiting List, here are some things that you might wanna know.

First, here is the price:

The Anaconda DVD is $47.

The Eye Cut is $37.

If you get both, you can save $17 and get it at $67.

It’s not cheap, but it is very powerful material that gives you an almost “unfair advantage” over other card handlers.

Is it worth it?

We’ll leave that for you to decide. =)

And if you haven’t already, do check out our other material here in the Members Area such as:

When creating the Anaconda DVD, our main criteria was to give you an all-arounded “awesome” experience. That means that everything from the visuals to even the music had to be absolutely awesome.

Our solution? We contacted Roland Lim, Singapore’s top music composer and producer, to compose all the music for the Anaconda DVD.

The iPod Test.

We wanted every movement, cut and fade in the DVD to be accompanied by music that was really, really good. So, to ensure that it wasn’t the usual royalty-free “power chords with blaring electric guitars and no distinct tune”, we created the iPod Test.

Every piece was designed to stand on its own as awesome music, worthy to be placed in your iPod. If it didn’t pass the test, it was re-scored and, re-composed and re-tweaked to listening perfection.

The music in the DVD is not just originally-composed, it’s originally scored. That means that every single note and sound you hear fits every movement, fade and transition in the DVD… all for your perfect listening experience.

Audiophiles, eat your hearts out!

Here’s a sample from one of the 12 tracks, entitled “Hindu Tornado”:

If you enjoyed the music in the trailer and would like some royalty-free music that you can use in your own videos, the Anaconda Original Soundtrack will be made available during a streamlined customization process when you purchase the Anaconda DVD. =D

The cost? $9.

That’s right – just help us out with the server download fees and we’ll give you all 12 tracks of the Anaconda Original Soundtrack.

Actually, we’ll give you two copies, one in FLAC, and the other in .mp3. =)

The Anaconda Original Soundtrack: Royalty-Free Music that’s iPod-worthy.

Enjoy!

Hey guys,

We know you’ve all been waiting a long time for the price of the Anaconda DVD and The Eye Cut to be announced.

Over the past few days, we’ve been getting emails asking us if the price of the Anaconda DVD and The Eye Cut would be $200.

Well, it certainly is worth $200, but the good news is that we didn’t price it at that. Surprise, surprise! ;)

After a lot of debate and discussion… we’ve finally settled on a price that would be accessible to all. We’re not sure if we’re going to stick with this price as we honestly think it’s really low for what you’ll be getting.

However, we intend to over-deliver with this product, and that includes getting the price right. =)

So here’s the price:

Official Price:

The Anaconda DVD will cost $47.

The Eye Cut will cost $37.

However, for the first 4 days of the 7 day period, we’re going to give everybody here at WLD ‘09 a huge discount.

Price for the first 4 days:

The Anaconda DVD will cost $35. (You save $12)

The Eye Cut will cost $27. (You save $10)

But I’m sure some of you are wondering whether you’ll get a discount if you get both the Anaconda DVD and The Eye Cut.

The answer… is yes. If you get the bundle, you’ll save a total of $37:

Bundle price:

The Anaconda DVD will cost $27. (You save $20)

The Eye Cut will cost $20. (You save $17)

Yup, we’re gonna give you both The Anaconda DVD and The Eye Cut for the original price of the Anaconda DVD… $47.

Why? Because we love you all, that’s why. =D

For now, just remember to be ready on the 18th.

Till then, you may join the Reservation List if you’d like, as it’s not going to be up for much longer ;)

It was really hard to reach this decision, but we’ve decided to push the time back a little so that everybody would be prepared, rather than have a rushed countdown period for the 18th. Thank you for your understanding, as well as your patience.

Hey guys…

The time has come for us to announce the winners of the Crazy Ones Competition.

We had 54 submissions in total, with entries from the USA, Vietnam, the UK, Egypt, Brazil, France, Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Switzerland, Mexico and South Africa.

The submissions contained all sorts of crazy, creative, funny, entertaining and inspiring moments and scenes… and choosing our winners were so difficult because we had just never seen anything like that in any card flourishing competition, ever.

To see the different ways that the message to “Think Different” was interpreted and brought to life from card lovers all across the globe was ridiculously inspiring to say the least, and the amount of effort that we know many people put into what they did, be it videos, photos, drawings, and even sculptures… was just something that really moved us.

We never knew how many people would take part in the competition. In fact, we thought that most people would find it ridiculous that a card flourish competition did not even need to have card flourishes as a requirement… but the crazy competition happened during this crazy WLD ‘09 event… and we have finally selected the winners.

The prizes:

To recap, here are the prizes again in full detail… including the 2 previously unannounced bonus prizes:

Anaconda “The World’s Longest Dribble” Limited Edition DVD

The Eye Cut

1 Signed Deck Used During Production

The Anaconda Original Soundtrack

1 Lefty Deck Courtesy Of “The New York Magic Project” (1st Place gets an entire brick!)

The Winners:

Remember how we said we were going to pick 3 winners?

Well, we looked at all the crazy submissions… and realized that 3 winners wasn’t enough for all the awesomeness that we received.

There will now be 4 winners for “The Crazy Ones” competition. Surprise surprise ;)

So who are the winners?

We’ll start with three runner-ups, then announce who scored first place.

The Three Runner-Ups (in no particular order)

Cynthia Lu:

Cynthia’s crazy submission came as a surprise more than anything else. She emailed it to us purely as something she draw for fun over two afternoons, and when we saw it, we instantly fell in love with it and suggested that she submit it for The Crazy Ones Competition.

The level of detail of what she drew, the amount of style that that single frame projected, the vibe that the drawing alone gave off… was just so crazy and inspiring, and there’s just nothing we would change about what she submitted.

We’ve actually been showing all our friends this work of art, and everyone we know loves it just as much as us. It’s absolutely beautiful, and it speaks volumes to “Think Different”.

Cynthia, your work is simply amazing.

Arnaud’s was one that we were all awe-struck by.

For starters, the cinematography was absolutely stunning, and the feel of this video was just so refreshing. However, there was one little hiccup.

Kevin and I didn’t quite see the “crazy” message that was supposed to be in it.

So we spoke to Daren about it, to which he replied something along the lines of this:

“His message IS to ‘Think Different’. He’s inspired by architecture and design; and while most people don’t see the work that goes behind the creation of such buildings, it takes “crazy ones” to create, design, and build structures so beautiful.”

…and nothing else needed to be said about a message so subtle, yet so powerful. Our hats off to you, Arnaud. =)

David Misner:

David’s submission started with a powerful introduction message, and it ended with what we feel is the most iconic moment in all the video submissions we received. His video had a beautiful message that really projected what “thinking out of the box” means to us.

Many people limit and restrict themselves in life with the rules and boundaries that they set for themselves, freezing and giving up because of all the ‘what ifs’ that are asked.

David’s video, however, featured the amazing element of ’surrender’. Surrender not in the form of giving up, but in the sense of allowing oneself to flow with the art, and to just allow expression and creation to take over.

His video sent a message that accomplishing the impossible begins with the impossible, as the impossible isn’t really impossible at all, as long as we believe.

Thank you David, for your amazing submission.

First Place

Tyler Chase:

Before this competition, we all had no idea who Tyler Chase was. Then, his “crazy” submission simply astounded us all.

Tyler’s video started with a short introduction filled with energy, confidence, humour, and so much sincerity.

His introduction then followed with a brilliant video with a clear and powerful message that speaks for everything we believe in.

His video projected the message of a sense of unity and inspiration even beyond our art; a message that symbolized that we’re not just connected in our own little community, but that we’re connected in all kinds of ways, through all sorts of mediums.

In other words, Tyler showed us that inspiration can be drawn from amazing people everywhere, and it showcased those particular individuals in his life that motivated him through music, movement, dance and sports.

It’s funny how so many of us fight amongst ourselves in a community that’s already so small… and Tyler just showed us that even people in completely different art forms can inspire each other to keep going for what they have a passion for.

To us, art isn’t about separating people. It’s our personal medium of expression so that we may connect with each other on a greater level, and Tyler’s video showcased it perfectly.

His video also started with a beautiful and quirky twist. He put a beat over the main audio track, instantly increasing the pace of it and giving it its own unique flow… something that immediately made the old crazyones.mp3 feel new again.

We can’t think of any better winner, and Tyler, you most definitely deserved first place.

Kudos to you, man. =)

So we were goofing around in the studio today, and decided to capture the Anaconda at its purest. No awesome angle, no crazy cinematography… just straight on.

Here’s a photo that I took of Daren performing the Anaconda:

But hey, what’s the point of a photo, right? It doesn’t quite make any sense to show you guys a photo of the Anaconda if it’s not gonna be a wallpaper or something.

A photo says little of the actual performance of the Anaconda. Heck, how do we even know that Daren actually caught the cards?

Unless…that photo… was actually part of a video! (And it was!)

So… here’s the video we filmed. ;)
